Stories
Once upon a time... But who's time is it. I have no time for such foolishness. These are matters only for kids, and by the way my kids are too intelligence to fool for any of those things...Right?
But you can be the biggest Star Wars geek? Stories are cleverly disguised medicine. A spoonful of sugar so you can digest life classes. It is hiding the pill in the brownie. And the hero are ourselves. But the hero's of myths are the bravest and strongest of their whole cultures....Yes that is why then you must start on fairy tales, no excuses here. If the little girl Dorothy can do it, you ain't cutting the mustard if you can not! But you can. Can what? Become an adult, that is what. But I am forty six going onto fifty real soon......But how is your emotional intelligence; when your mate asks chocolate or vanilla, hikes in the park or Kayaking, does it take twenty minutes to answer them; for if you were an adult this would be an easy question because you would of met yourself already. So who do I wake up with every morning and see in the mirror....Do you wonder the same thing, do you even know who has been sleeping next to you for twenty years? Does she even know? So who is going to fix this? You are silly. It is time to become your own hero.
Like Robin Williams in Hook, we disassociate from the hero and children within ourselves. Peter Pan is a story about children who refused to grow up. They entered the fairy tale, but refused to ever return to the real world as an adult. They are like Ulysses stuck on the island of youth refusing to go home. Their shadows are lost or ignored, change never happens to them. Their shadows get projected into larger than life fears. They become Indians and Pirates. They are afraid of their natural changes that happen in puberty to the body and the social changes that manifest. The social changes turn you into pirates. The problem with some of us is, we have become child pirates. We turn away from all that is natural, we have not grown up, but we have careers that mean all. The stakes are high and dirty. Enters Robin Williams in the movie Hook. He has a killer job that envelops his life that provides survival and duty! Oh yeah he also has some wife and a couple of kids. Peter Pan might have conquered the pirates and gained some responsibility, but he just took their place. When you enter anything in a confrontational manner, you always run the risk of becoming what you are fighting. Fear does it to you. If you are mugged in an alley, do you not fight back? If so, in time do you not become offensive as well. When the prince rescue the princess from the dragon that is going to kill her, is he no better taking the dragon's life? Is life equal to a life? So Peter has become Captain cook missing his left hand, the natural hand that the Indians represent. He is distant from his wife and Wendy, his anima as well. But worse than all, he gave up his inner child. He has become the eternal revl without a cause teen on the tetering to and fro neither an adult or a child. He does not produce he just takes. He is an expert of hostile take ovesr, minus the sword.
So what does this have to do with me.....Everything. Why are you depressed, you have done everything logical and conscious one does to succeed in the world. But is it a world you would want to live in, I'm sorry, we already discussed your inability to decide such questions. Life is two sided; arts and science. How did you do in your elective classes in High School. You either did great and ignored your gifts as you got a career or sucked at them because they were not concrete enough. Maybe they asked for faith in yourself. But faith is not concrete, it is not tangible measurable. Neither is your soul, can you risk that it does not exist? The art of life is having an opinion and sticking to it until better information arrives. What makes great artists is the ability to say the same thing that has been said a trillion times before you, with your own words! It is showing the world what they look like through your rose colored glasses. Art is the skill of intrinsic emotional expression with the faith that it will be accepted and appreciated which will bring comfort, joy, justification and reassurance to the intended audience. There is an art to science and there is a science to art. Oil painting is difficult because it deals with exact mixing of concrete pigments to represent a color seen from life. Oil Painting has a high level of chemical knowledge to it for a painter to learn to become great. You have to know how to size a canvas, how to make the size from rabbit hide, how to mix Damar resin with turpentine to have a glaze, how to add this or that to increase or prolong the drying time and so forth. But it has to be mixed with the expression and gestures of the wrist in your own way to make the art.
But I am not an artist....Oh no, do you not want to have the skill of intrinsic emotional expression with the faith that it will be accepted and appreciated which will bring comfort, joy, justification and reassurance to the intended audience. Is that not what every one wants for their family, even if they do not know how to get there? Now that is what we have been talking about the whole time. That is what fairy tales have been saying for millenniums. Even before we could even speak. Our dreams and their symbols are far much older than any grunts we call language. These dreams tell the turtle to run to the sea as fast as possible before the hawk he has never seen eats him from above. He has been alive for two seconds and he knows above, straight, danger, safety, and a Hawk. He knows that the water is safe. The symbol of the subconscious's will save him. The turtle knows that the subconscious's is safe, it is what told him to run fast that saved his life. this knowledge comes from thepineal gland in the hypothalmus that is our ancient brain stem we share with the turtle. So you have been in the fairy tale for awhile now.
I am sorry for those who understand the importance of fairy tales that you had to go through this page, but you have gained understanding for those who do not. Maybe you have thought up of ways how to help them answer their calling. For those who are taken back and a guffed by this all, it is time to answer your calling. So get off your fucking ass. Your family deserves better. Learn to think for yourself. Grow up!
