When we see the trickster arise in our psyche, it is a call to new things. They bring the new creation to stale or harmful ways. We will study the Raven, Rabbit, and coyote of the North Americans and learn how they influenced Bugs Bunny. We will go to Africa and journey with Eshu as he crosses over to the Caribbean as Legba and finally pitch his home in the American South. Learn Hermes deception which made him a God. Follow Faust and Mephistophocles into forbidden knowledge. See the high price that tolled for DR Jekyl. Theirs is the journey of our excess, our continual denial and treating the symptoms but never the disease we fear. Their tale is ours. It is the tale of the god that cast his twin into the nether regions not to hear the constructive criticism he needed to save his life. Last but not least I introduce the last of these little devils, who I hope will not introduce himself into your lives.
